The men in green and black came out on top this morning in a very competitive game in Boora.
St. Carthages started the better of the two teams and they tested Bernard in goals early on with a few corners/ shots but Bernard was in fine form in goals and kept them at bay.
Keith Hope opened the scoring on the 15 minute mark with a fine glancing header from a excellent Johnny Mee cross. Not long after Keith Hope scored again when he beat 3 St. Carthages men and powered home inside the box.
St Carthages came flying back out the blocks again after half time and had a host of chances to score but our back line held strong and the management made some changes which gave us more control in the game.
We couldve extended out lead in the end only for some good save from the St. Carthages goal keeper.
This was a good rugged performance where we had to dig deep against a strong team, exactly what we needed after a few lackluster performances in recent weeks.
Our Clarkes Bar man of the match is Keith Hope who was a thorn in the St. Carthages teams side all afternoon. Johnny Mee also deserves a mention as he was brilliant bombing up and down the right wing.
As always thanks a million to everyone who made the trip to cheer us on.
