The points were shared in a tough away game in Offaly this morning. The game itself wasnt great with neither side really taking control.
We took the lead directly from a Ben Walsh corner (Ben’s 4th goal from a corner) late in the second half but we fell asleep at the start of the 2nd half and Walsh Island equalised with a great through ball and solid finish.
We went ahead again midway through the 2nd half when Ben was taken down for penalty which was cooly dispatched by Keith Hope. Walsh Island Shamrocks were then awarded a contentious penalty themselves when they played on after the ball seemed to go well over the line.
All in all a draw was a fair result. This leaves us with 7 points after 3 games and 2nd in the league. Our Clarkes Bar, Mullingar man of the match today was Keith Hope.
