It was a game of two halves for this pre-season friendly on Wednesday night with both teams level 1-1 at half time Mullingar Celtic ran out winners 7-1.
Celtic started the brightest and took the lead after 20 mins when a great ball whipped in by Gearoid Sheridan found David Jessop at the back post who made no mistake & headed into the back of net.
After that Ballymahon grew into the game and created a number of chances before levelling close to half time with a fabulous strike from outside the box.
Both teams rang the changes at half time and Celtic dominated with the speed and trickery of Ian Keelan, Mark Hickey & Ryan Dempsey cauding awful trouble for Ballymahon’s defence.
Mullingar Celtic routed Ballymahon in the second half with seven different scorers overall with David Jessop, Johnny Mee, Demo, Keelo, Shanley, Ben, Scully all getting their names on the scoresheet.
A good win for Celtic with tougher tests ahead as we get close to the start of the season after consecutive promotions since the club was founded.
