We came out on top in a great preseason friendly game out in Kinnegad this afternoon. It was a game of two half’s with the wind having a big effect on the football being played. We came flying out the blocks and scored through Keith Hope in the first few minutes after some great battling from out no.10. Not long after we thought we went two up when Ryan Dempsey put in a brilliant ball which Mark Hickey put away with a good finish but the ref ruled Hickey off side.
Kinnegad then went up and scored a great goal of their own and then took the lead with a fine free kick. Kinnegad took the lead into half time but our men stuck to their task and got their just rewards when Ben Walsh struck 15 minutes in the half. Keith Hope then scored again when Jimmy Stenson knocked the ball down to him at the edge of the box.
