Mullingar Celtic came out on top in another great game against Temple Villa in Gainstown.
Temple Villa opened the scoring from the penalty spot when their striker was taken down in the box. Ciaran Shanley leveled the score not long after when he latched onto a great freekick from Ryan Dempsey.
Keith Hope gave us the lead early in the second half when he found the corner with a great effort from the edge of the box. Temple Villa equalised not long after with a great goal of their own.
Our fitness really came into play in the second half and we started to play some great football. Ryan Dempsey and Keith Hope caused havoc and played some great intricate football which resulted in Freck sliding Demo in who powered a great effort home.
Demo made sure of the result when he and Freck linked up again and Demo who’s on fire at the moment found the back of the net again.
Its very hard to pick a man of the match today with Ryan Dempsey putting in a brilliant display and scoring two excellent goals, but Darren Aughey put in one of the most selfless displays you’d see on any football pitch. He was asked to do a job and done it to perfection. So he gets the Clarkes Bar man of the match.
