We won an excellent game against a very good team today out in Gainstown.
Coolraine started strong and scored the first goal from just inside our half with a looping effort that caught our goal keeper off guard.
Fola Ayorinde equalised when he latched onto a good ball by Ryan Dempsey. Coolraine took the lead again thanks to some tenacious work from their centre forward who won the ball and squared for a tap in at the back post.
We stuck to our task and played some good football at the end of the first half which resulted in Ian Keelan slotting Keith Hope through who held off two defenders and slotted home.
The second half was a tight affair with both sides having good chances to win the game. The winner came when Keith Hope floated in a freekick than landed at Cian Farrells feet who scored his first goal for the club and secured a vital 3 points!
Joe Doyle was our Clarkes Bar man of the match, he battled for every ball against a strong physical Coolraine midfield and played some great football as well.
