Walsh Island got off to a great start scoring in the first 5 minutes and they held their lead until the 40th minute when Dean Scully who’s on a fine run of form followed an Ian Keelan strike into the box and slotted home from close range after the goal keeper parried keelos shot into his path.
Not long after Tommy Doyle who came on for the injured Cillian Fagan gave us the lead when he latched onto a Ryan Dempsey cross and found the bottom corner. Keith Hope dispatched a penalty to double our lead 10 minutes into the second half after Ryan Dempsey was taken down in the box. Tommy Doyle then doubled his tally with another fine finish after Ryan Dempsey played him through with a great ball.
Demo then got the goal his performance deserved when Dean Scully picked him out at the back post to cap off a great weekend for the club.
Our Clarkes Bar Man of the match today was Ryan Dempsey who got 2 assists a goal and won our penalty. Dean Scully was a close second and in truth we had great performances all over the pitch.
