Our second game in the preseason tournament was action packed with plenty of goalmouth action & hard tackles flying in!
Longford Rovers took an early lead helped by a defensive mixup at a corner kick.
We had some great chances to equalize with Rory Daly & Mark Hickey both going close before the break.
As we pushed for an equalizer Longford Rovers had some really good chances on the counter attack but debutant Pedro Santos pulled off a couple of great saves to keep us in the game.
Our good play was finally rewarded a couple of minutes before the end after a number of near misses from Dean Scully, Jack Dalton, Jack Curran & Cian Farrell. A great cross from Rory Daly was converted by Dean Scully to keep us unbeaten in the tournament.
A special mention to debutants Adam Loughlin, Joey Harris & Pedro Santos who all had good displays as well as strong performances from newcomers Jack Dalton & Ben Wilson.
Our next game in the tournament will be on Thursday night at 8pm in The Mall vs Section O.
